Weekly Review 26th & 27th July
It was an interesting weekend of football with the weather bringing through a few different seasons. After copping decent rain on Saturday, some games were called off. Nevertheless, the Forest Rangers mateship and determination to win was not wavered as others played through the rain. It was great to see the commitment of teams and supporters when I’m sure most wanted to stay in their warm beds. I bet some people had fun doing the washing!
A few teams in particular didn’t hesitate to impress as they bagged a win.
The AAA/Reserve team kept their finals hopes alive by securing a 3-2 win over the competition leaders Ramsgate RSL. A good win made even sweeter because the competition ladder is very close. Keep it up guys! I’m sure we all look forward to sharing in more of your success.
The AAF side has made a Lazarus return winning their past Five games and are now sitting in 5th, just 1 point behind 4th. With a win on the weekend they need Hurstville Glory to draw or lose to grab the 4th spot. You can do it guys!
Sunday was a glorious day for football with the sun shining bright it made for perfect conditions.
The O35C1 team loves nothing more than 9am kick-offs at Gannons Park to start their day! They contested this with an impressive and consistent display of skill smacking their opponents Carss Park 5-1. This means Rangers now sit four points clear in first spot on the competition ladder. Very exciting!!!
Our women’s teams played some great football on Sunday too. U/16 Girls B team had a solid 3-0 away win over Hurstville Glory. They now sit equal first place on the ladder with Arncliffe. It’s really going to come down to the crunch as they battle it out for the minor premiership. In fact, these two teams are playing each other THIS COMING WEEKEND!!! Get excited and come down to Gannons 1 on Sunday 3rd August @ 9am to support Rangers. Best of luck ladies!
Both our AAWA teams won their games. AAWA1’s had a huge win 5-1 against Kogarah Waratah. A great result by all but a special mention goes to Larissa Trimble who put away 3 of the goals!
AAWA2’s are having a great season and continued it on the weekend with a 2-1 win victory against Penshurst West. They are currently sitting in 2nd and are all but guaranteed a finals spot, good work ladies!
There is a lot going on this weekend, including our Life Members day on Sunday so please check the website for details and Go Rangers!
