Farewell to 15 Years of LKells

We have unfortunately come to the stage where we must formally bid farewell to Lynda Kelly our Communications Officer, FRFC Committee member and Volunteer of 15 years!

Lynda joined the Committee as a floor member in 2008. Since then she has covered many important milestones for the Club such as building our Website, Facebook Profile, Twitter & Flickr accounts.  On an almost daily basis, Lynda has been updating these platforms including the TeamApp, and she would commonly sit in on as many semi’s and final’s as possible tweeting up to the minute scores!

It was the norm for Lynda to receive an early morning message from the FRFC President on a Saturday or Sunday with Ground updates, having to relay the info to our FRFC teams.

Apart from Lynda’s commitment as Communications Officer, she has also managed her youngsters’ teams for 15 years where she got her Nickname ‘Lkells’!

Lynda often helped out in the canteen where she acquired her secondary nickname ‘Bacon Lynda’ as she always had a bacon roll in her hand. She even had her own mug and own wine glass stored in the canteen! More often than not she would do Ground Marshall duty on a Sunday with her famous creative winter gum boots on. She was also an integral part of our Inaugural Life Members day bringing homemade cakes and lace tablecloths to decorate.

Of course we will hopefully still see Lynda on the sideline at her son’s AA games on a Saturday afternoon when she is in town. But we are pleased that she now has the opportunity to enjoy a well-deserved rest.

Thanks Lynda for your wonderful contributions to the Club.  It’s been a pleasure working with you.  See you on the side line!
