Richo Cup – Monday 12th June!
The Richo Cup will be held again this year at Gannons Park this Monday 12th June. What a wonderful way to celebrate the Queens Birthday! This is an all day event with games kicking off at 8.30am finishing up around 4pm with the Grand Finals of both comps (Men’s and Women’s).
This is our 3rd year running this event which serves above all to highlight the importance of HEART HEALTH in memory of our friend and Forest Rangers player Matt “RICHO” Richardson.
We are very proud of what we have achieved so far: The rollout of Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s) to every football ground in the St George area; A donation of $10,000 to the St George Hospital Cardiology department. This year’s profits will also go to the St George Hospital.
We will have Heartbeat of Football in attendance to run tests and demonstrations and St George Health with strapping and injury advice.
Draws and teams will be released on Thursday so if you want to play in a team and haven’t already let your team manager know, then get on to it ASAP (over 14 years only). There are trophies for the winning teams and prizes for the most outstanding male and female players of the day.
Come down for the day or for lunch, buy some raffle tickets and support the teams.
The RICHO CUP RAFFLE will be drawn by our special guests and the prizes this year are amazing so make sure you hand in your tickets:
Mystery Weekend away with flights and accommodation
2 night weekend in the Crown Plaza- Hunter Valley
2 night weekend at Novotel, Brighton or Wollongong
We also have some silent auction items such as a W League signed and framed shirt donated to us by the female football ambassador in St George – Teresa Polias.
The highlight of the day will be the lunchtime entertainment:
ST GEORGE WARRIORS v the ALLSTARS
ST GEORGE REFS v THE PRESOS!
We will be serving food ALL DAY at the canteen so no need to bring lunch. We will also have a coffee truck and a fairy floss stand. Mini goals will be set up to keep the little ones happy. So come along, bring a crowd, bring chairs/blanket & shade and your own “adult drinks” and cheer on all the SGFA teams as we reunite for a worthy cause.
SEE YOU THERE FOREST RANGERS FAMILY!
