FOREST RANGERS ARE GOING BUSH!!!!!!!

As a result of the tragic and unprecedented bush fires experienced in NSW, Forest Rangers Football club have decided to help one of the worst affected areas in the South Coast.

The Milton Ulladulla area along with small neighbouring towns have not only suffered large numbers of property loss but also the sad news of lives lost. There is further hardship to be endured with looming economic losses in an area that heavily relies on income generated over the summer school holidays.

The Forest Rangers Football Club in liaison with the Milton Ulladulla Football Club have stepped in to try and help the local community.

Forest Rangers are organising to play trial matches against the local Milton Ulladulla Football Club on the weekend of March the 7th and 8th. We aim to support the local community by teaming up with the local club and enjoying a nice weekend of food, football and fun for the kids. These local communities need people to come and spend money on food, drink, accommodation, fuel etc. therefore Our aim is to organise at least 6 to 10 teams from Under 6 to Over 35 in both boys and girls to play in the trials and spend the weekend to help this township.

Our two clubs are currently planning the weekend however it will hopefully run along the following lines:

Saturday morning and afternoon:
Arrive at Lighthouse Oval around 10.30am for BBQ lunch and trial games.

Saturday Night:
Dinner and kids disco at Ulladulla Ex-Serviceman’s Club. During the night a number of raffles will be held with all proceeds to go to the people that need help.

Sunday Morning:
A swim and races on the beach at the award-winning Mollymook Beach (voted in the top ten beaches in Australia) and another BBQ breakfast. Then back to Sydney.

We are putting the call out to all Coaches and Managers to contact their respective teams and to try and help getting teams together to travel to Ulladulla for these trial games.

Even if you cannot get every player in your team to participate, we can always form teams from those who are available.

If you need help in organising teams please contact Jamie Izard at jamie.i@bigpond.com or Andrew Perros at Andrew.Perros@talosinsurance.com.au.

If you have organised teams please send the teams age they will be playing in the 2020 season and players names to jamie.i@bigpond.com. All players need to be registered for insurance purposes.

Our presence in the area will help support the local community both financially and by sharing a mutual passion. We also see this as a great opportunity for FRFC team to bond and to see a beautiful part of Australia all while playing our wonderful game.

If you wish to put your support behind this wonderful cause, please help us by getting your teams together ASAP.

The closing dates for team nomination will be 30th of January 2020 so we can match teams up with the other club.

Each team will be responsible for their own accommodation but I suggest to try and stay together as a team where possible to get the most out of the experience.

A list of accommodation places is attached separately.

Finally if any of our Forest Ranger family can source prizes for the raffles then please let me know even if you cannot make it to Ulladulla for the weekend.

This is a time for us all to make a difference to so many people so let’s not let them down.

If you wish to contact me direct my email address is jamie.i@bigpond.com or on 0419 626 926 and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
