Welcome to Forest Rangers Football Club

Junior Development

Talent Identification Programme (TIP)

The Talent Identification Programme (TIPs) is a graded selection process programme which provide opportunities for 8-12-year old’s to benefit from advanced coaching and to develop within the Forest Rangers Football Club player pathway.

Technical training or ‘having a ball at your feet’ is the most important concept for the development of young football players. We at Forest Rangers Football Club consider player development over the “winning at all cost” mentality is paramount to young player development.  We shall emphasise the technical part of football to ensure that the young footballer develops technically.

Trials are held every year in October/November for players to join the program the following season. These trials are open to male or female players.

In our selection process the players are evaluated on a number of key area’s. These are:

  • Technique
  • Balance
  • Speed
  • Attitude
  • Behaviour
  • Skill
  • Personality
  • Understanding
  • Intelligence

Each Trialist must trial for his position again every year so that it is equal opportunity to every player each year which Forest Rangers Football Club is passionate about in giving all player’s an opportunity to be involved in the program.

The program is at no extra cost the players.

Each team is allocated a Coach, Assistant Coach and Manager which means the coach/player ratio is the best in the area. This increases the players development and also at a faster rate compared to other similar programs.

The teams train two nights a week and plays games on Saturday with in the SGFA and also plays a second training game each fortnight against other teams.

If you interested in more information about the TIP or wish to become part of the coaching staff please contact the club by emailing; [email protected]

Monday Night Skills (MNS)

MNS is aimed at providing our young players with more ball time and set skill sessions to help them progress and develop their own ability in a non-competitive environment under the supervision and instruction of our wonderful FRFC coaches.  MNS is offered on a weekly basis over the season for a modest fee per session.

Once our schedules for 2020 season are arranged we will update this page with further details on how to participate.

Girls Skills

Our team of qualified Coaches will run this program “Girls With Goals” where Girls are able to learn and furtherdevelop their skills in a fun, supportive, and non-competitive environment.

FRFC have established a program in 2020 for Girls aged 5 and upwards to suit their requirements, whether it’s a social football experience or technical game training to pursue their desire to play at the highest level.

Our focus for player development is in line with the FFA National Football Curriculum and our program is open to Girls of all ages and abilities. Our female development coach Amanda Marino is dedicated to improving our girls, offering skills and team training programs. We are excited for 2020 season.

Stay tuned for these sessions.
